RTRC (Rising Tide Rewards Club) is the brainchild of All Black TJ Perenara (Ngāti Rangitihi), Byron Pewhairangi (Ngāti Porou) and Freddie Robinson (Te Whānau-ā-Apanui). The idea for RTRC came about over a cup of coffee, when we were discussing how we enjoy catching up this way: enjoying food, drink and good kōrero at local establishments. We also recognised though that with high cost of living, people aren’t necessarily able to have these experiences as often and noticed how consumers are choosing to spend their money differently in the current financial climate. We then started to brainstorm ways in which we could help support the consumer and business cycle, both creating value for money for the spender and more opportunity and support for businesses.

From hairdressers to local cafes to family activities and beauty treatments.
We are rapidly growing a strong network of businesses and services that has people front of mind. At RTRC we also want to establish a give back initiative where our members and business partners get to see that their contribution is having direct impact in their own neighbourhoods and community organisations. It’s always been important for us to be able to feed all the hard work back into where it matters most and to also be able to reward our community for getting on board with this kaupapa.
