The iDiscover Program is designed to nurture independence and self-directed learning in children. It empowers them to discover the learning methods that work best for them, fostering self-confidence, curiosity, and teamwork.
Through collaboration with peers and experts, children learn to take calculated risks, plan their own days, set tasks, and follow through with determination. It is truly inspiring to watch young learners engage in their work passionately and independently, without constant adult supervision.
Learners have to be taught the following scientific thinking skills besides introducing science concepts.
Science concepts are organized and taught through the above skills, with dedicated activities and learning materials for each area. The curriculum is designed around real-world problems and delivered through a project-based learning approach. Learners solve these problems through hands-on projects, many of which benefit the school and local community. The curriculum also builds a strong foundation for pursuing science-based courses in higher education.
At iDiscover, mathematics goes beyond calculation and computation to develop key mathematical skills:
The curriculum is designed around real-world problems and delivered through a project-based learning approach. Learners develop solutions through hands-on projects, many of which benefit the school and local community. For example, a sixth-grade learner may analyze school bus routes by collecting and interpreting data, then compute and present results to demonstrate a more efficient solution. The curriculum also builds a strong foundation, enabling learners to pursue higher-level mathematics courses with confidence.
For every project, experts are invited to work with learners and help learners to understand the problem, get feedback on the learner’s product/outlook and share their experience. For most of the projects, there will be a need to go on a field trip to attend a meeting, learn things or meet experts. These kind of experiences provides an immersive learning experience to bring professional work culture.
The projects are designed in such a way that learners undertake tasks and activities which require perseverance, craftsmanship, imagination, critical thinking and creative thinking skills. The undertaking of such projects helps the child in gaining self-confidence, increases their risk-taking ability, helps them do their work independently and analyze the problems deeply.
The iDiscover program helps children to have a solid foundation of concepts in Maths and languages. In Geometry and Algebra, children advance to the next level as soon as they master the current one, without waiting for their peers. In English, they are provided with personalised books tailored to their level, covering Reading Comprehension, Writing, Vocabulary, and Grammar.
At iDiscover, children are encouraged to explore their interests deeply before choosing a path to specialise.
Children begin by choosing a musical instrument—Keyboard, Violin, or Guitar—and gradually build mastery. As they progress, they can choose to specialise in classical or contemporary styles, based on their interest and aptitude.
Learners explore a wide range of dance forms in the early years. Over time, they may choose to focus on classical dance traditions or cinematic and contemporary dance forms, developing both technique and expressive confidence.
Greenvalley offers exposure to Cricket, Football, Athletics, Badminton, Volleyball, Carrom, and Chess. During the initial years of iDiscover, children experience all sports. As they grow, they may specialise in one sport or continue participating in multiple sports for lifelong fitness and enjoyment, without the pressure of professional competition.
